2003 Was a time of great blessing in India. The gospel reached many Deaf Hindus in the south of India. We have a new Deaf ministry starting in Vijaywayada, please pray for this. pastor Ezra will shortly be attending a 1 month course in Christian signing. This will be a big upheaval for him and his family as the course will be a long distance away. Arrangements also have to be made for his Church during this period.

2002 again took us to India. We spent time in Chennai with the Deaf people there, it was tremendous. Please pray for the Christians there as the recent changes in law make it very difficult and dangerous to spread the gospel.

The Deaf Christians in Kerala are growing in numbers and strength. They do need your prayers and support. Please pray for Deaf Christians to be called into ministry.

Andhra Pradesh is very poor, the Deaf Christians are there but few in numbers. Please pray especially for this state and it's needs are great. An organisation has been started there called Life Spring Ministries. As well as ministering to the Deaf it is running an orphanage, building Churches (83 to date), looking after the Lepers, growing rice for the villages etc etc etc. To learn more about this please click here. 2001 saw us on our way to India to take the gospel to the Deaf there. We spent much time with the Deaf of Chennai (Madras), preaching, teaching and praying. It was really fruitful.

Close on 300 Deaf young people got together to give us a big welcome. The put on a Sunday morning service with lots of their own signed songs and messages. I have video of this if anyone would like a copy. It is really something to see..

The following week went had a 15 hour train journey to the state of Kerala. Again much time was spent taking the gospel to the Deaf untouchables there. There was also plenty of time available for teaching, praying  and getting to know people. The Deaf have a very open attitude to hearing people and are now starting there own businesses and services to the local community with great success. The fact that they don't speak or hear has very little impact with them and find many other ways to communicate.

Shirley spent a lot of time with the local women and children, she has a real ministry there with them and they are so much on her heart that we are already planning the next visit. Just to illustrate how lives are being changed, within days of one lady telling how desperate she was in her hut, no power, no water but a family to keep - prayer changed the situation and she is now due to be housed in proper housing. Our God is a great God!.
